UPDATE 1/1/2012

To register now for the Marriott Jaragua we recommend you call the US/International Marriott booking number:  1- 800 228 9290.
Rooms are still available from Tuesday, February 7 on.  We ask you to book the Jaragua for the conference (Tuesday, February 7-10)  Your stay then helps us fulfill our room contract and ensures our use of the hotel's meeting rooms without charge.  More important, you will be with your friends and transportation to our various events outside the hotel.

When you call, make sure you tell the representative that you are booking for a conference, the 50th anniversary of Peace Corps/Cuerpo de Paz in the DR, and that our group number is CDPCDPA.

COMING EARLIER
If you are making flight reservations for an earlier arrival, note there is no space at the Jaragua.  Following are suggestions for moderately priced hotels in the Zona Colonial before you move to the Jaragua on Tuesday. These are small, safe, comfortable hotels right in the heart of the interesting and tourist friendly Zona Colonial.

HOTEL PALACIO-- This charming hotel is a half block up from El Conde (now a pedestrian only street) and two blocks from the Cathedral Plaza.  This European owned hotel is in an old colonial residence.  It is lovely.

HOTEL MERCURE-- The Mercure is a quality hotel on a corner of El Conde, just one block from the Cathedral Plaza.  It has a popular restaurant with a little terrace right on El Conde.

For more luxury, find online the Hostal Nicolas de Ovando on Calle Las Damas or it's smaller sister hotel, the less expensive Hotel Frances

QUALITY HOTEL AEROPUERTO--If you are coming in late on Monday, February 6, consider staying at the airport hotel on the Autopista Las Americas your first night.

PLEASE DO STAY AT THE JARAGUA FOR THE ACTUAL CONFERENCE AS WE DEPEND ON OUR REGISTRANTS THERE TO FULFILL OUR CONTRACT FOR THE FACILITIES' USE.
