----North-- to Puerto Plata via Santiago, 27 Waterfalls National Park and La Isabela--This system of cascades is unique in the world and was developed as a national park through the sustained work of PCVs. It is now a major outdoor adventure destination in the DR. If you have not seen La Isabela, it should be on your "bucket list", plus, you will once again be in the gem of the North, Puerto Plata! (This post celebration tour is 2 or more nights).
----Samana & Las Galeras - Some of the most beautiful beaches in the DR plus the opportunity to visit a sustainable fishing project plus whale watching (2-3 nights pre or post celebration)
---East--Enjoy el Caribe's white sands of Bayahibe via San Pedro and La Romana; you'll be able to visit a number of successful PCV projects such as artesania, an underwater museum, and more (2 or 3 nights)

---Southwest-- Independent Tour--Los Flamingos, mangroves, belleza--Boat on Lagoona de Oviedo and Bahia de Las Aguillas via Bani, Azua, and Barahona and then Pedernales -- 3 nights post.
---Central Mountains/Jarabacoa and the Yaque River--Independent Tour--Grab your sweater and hiking shoes for Jarabacoa, and an oppoortunity to stay at Sonido del Yaque in Los Calabazos. 20 minutes from Jarabacoa, you'll relax by the clean and refreshing Rio Yaque and enjoy comida tipica. A local guide will walk you through the hydroelectric system, biodigesters, greenhouses located very close to the cabanas. Time on your own for sites or relaxing in charming Jarabacoa. This is an independent tour you will arrange with the help of our PCVs at Los Calabazos and Jarabacoa.
----Santiago-- Independent Tour--Cibaenos one and all-- Santiago, Cibao and the Ruta de Cafe- stroll on Calle El Sol, visit the new Centro Leon, and tour the Ruta de Cafe from matas de cafe hasta la produccion para vender. This independent tour can be a one, two, or more nights with easy access to your sites
----Montecristi & El Morro--Independent Tour--Visit the historic and beautiful citiy, the stunning Playa del Morro, the iconic El Morro itself, and the 470 year old Carnival of Montecristi. You should not miss the famous oregano-fed goat of the region. A minimum of two nights are recommended for this independent tour. |
